BULLETIN
Tuesday, June 24, 2008
The rain delay on June 23 didn't dampen the enthusiasm of fans at the 2008 Junior Men's World Fast Pitch Championship. After six postponed games, the teams took to the fields at 5:00 and the fans showed up in full force to cheer them on.
Tournament Director George Arcand said "We had great cooperation from all the teams, and we managed to get four games in on the rainy day. We'll be totally caught up by Wednesday, and the fields remain in great condition."
Extra games have been added to the schedule on June 24 and 25. Barring any additional delays, matches will have been made up before noon on Wednesday.
The organizing committee extends a big thank you to the volunteers who kept the internet cafe open an extra six hours for the participants and all the volunteers who stayed late and came in early to accommodate the rescheduled games.
Rain delay decision are made by the tournament organizers who are familiar with the fields and the technical commissioner of the ISF. The number one concern is always athlete safety and that the fields are playable.
