INTERNATIONAL FAST PITCH CHAMPIONSHIP LESS THAN 2 WEEKS AWAY

Whitehorse, YT – The 2008 ISF Junior Men’s Fast Pitch World Championship is now less than two weeks away. Tournament organizers are gearing up to welcome 12 nations to Whitehorse this June 20 to 29.

The Whitehorse organizing committee says the event is well in hand. Over 150 volunteers have registered and 16 local businesses have joined the list of sponsors.

“The planning is coming along well,” said George Arcand, Chair of the 2008 ISF Junior Men’s World Fast Pitch Championship. “Everyone involved is getting pretty excited to get this tournament started. It is going to be some very high level ball, definitely worth checking out.”

Ball park improvements have been ongoing since the snow melted and they will continue right up to first pitch. Park users will notice a little extra pageantry around the Pepsi Softball Complex as Whitehorse gets ready to welcome 11 countries and our own Canadian team.

Tickets can be purchased at the Sport Yukon building or by calling (867) 667-4487. Tournament passes are on sale for $100. The pass gives you access to all the games for the entire tournament. Single day passes will also be available at the gate, and kids 16 and under get in for free.
